Everest International Academy (EIA) marked its return from a four-year hiatus with the vibrant and purposeful celebration of its 4th Annual Benefit-Gala. The event, held on November 10, 2023, at the main lounge of Manila Polo Club, Makati, was characterized by a commitment to making a positive impact on the local community.
Guests were transported to the venue in specially arranged driven cars courtesy of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, adding a touch of luxury to the occasion. The overarching theme for this year’s gala, aptly named “Driven,” underscored the school’s steadfast dedication to creating a meaningful difference in the community.
The primary beneficiaries of the gala included scholarships for EIA’s sister school, Mano Amiga Academy, support for the humanitarian initiatives of Family Missions and Mission Youth, aid for the ministry of Legionaries of Christ and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, and advancements for the EIA Sports Program.
The evening unfolded under the guidance of hosts CK Agbayani and Jackie Go, both esteemed members of the Everest community. EIA Executive Director Rosa Maria Lopez delivered the welcome remarks, setting the tone for an evening that transcended celebration to embody a sense of purpose.
Dr. Roberto de Ocampo, the Driven Gala Chairman and a central figure in the event, emphasized the dual nature of the gala as both a fundraiser and a mission. The Everest Chorale set a harmonious tone with an angelic serenade, paving the way for a sumptuous five-course dinner crafted by renowned chef Gaita Fores.
Adding a musical touch to the night, Top Suzara, the vocalist and guitarist of Freestyle, graced the audience with an acoustic performance. The glamour quotient rose with a mini fashion show by designer and Everest 2019 alumna Ellis Co.
The pinnacle of the night unfolded during the live charity auction, masterfully conducted by the charismatic RJ Ledesma. Among the notable items auctioned were artworks by luminaries such as Arturo Luz, Dominic Rubio, and Ram Mallari, making the auction a highlight of the evening’s activities.
