by Krystal

Gas prices are dropping in Delaware and the surrounding region as the summer travel season winds down.

As of Monday, AAA Mid-Atlantic reports that the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Delaware is $3.19. This marks a 10-cent decrease from the previous week and a 47-cent drop from a year ago. Delaware continues to have some of the lowest gas prices in the area.

The decline in prices is partly due to lower oil prices. Last week, oil prices fell by about $2, settling at just under $75 per barrel. This drop is attributed to mild demand and a steady supply, according to AAA.
