Gas prices in Colorado increased for the second week in a row, reaching an average of $3.42 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday. This marks a rise from last week’s price of $3.36 per gallon, as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Since last month, the average fuel price in the state has gone up by about 15 cents. Over the past year, gas prices in Colorado have varied significantly, dropping as low as $2.53 on January 22, 2024, and peaking at $4.10 on February 20, 2023.
Compared to last year, gas prices in Colorado are currently 11% lower, down from an average of $3.86 per gallon. In contrast, the average gas price nationwide last week was $3.19, making Colorado’s prices approximately 7.3% higher than the national average. The national average has also risen slightly from $3.18 per gallon the previous week.
