The Azorean government has announced a change in the maximum retail price of fuel, citing recent fluctuations in international reference prices for petroleum and energy products.
Starting on October 1, the price of petrol in the Azores will be set at 1.536 euros per litre, reflecting a decrease of 3.8 cents compared to September.
Fuel prices have been on the rise in the Azores since March, accumulating a total increase of 12.7 cents. However, there were no price changes in July and September.
In October, the price of diesel will be 1.420 euros per litre, marking a decrease of 2.8 cents from the previous month. The price of diesel has seen several fluctuations recently, with a 3.6 cent increase in March and April, a 3 cent drop in July, and a subsequent 4.3 cent rise in August.
Additionally, the price of colored diesel, used for agriculture and fishing, will also decrease by 2.8 cents per litre this month.
The Azorean government adjusts the maximum prices of petroleum and energy products on the first of each month, aligning them with changes in the European Price (PE) value.
On June 5, the Azorean government raised the Tax on Petroleum and Energy Products (ISP) by 2.7 cents for petrol and 10 cents for diesel.
