Georgia Governor Suspends Gas Tax After Hurricane Helene

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced on Tuesday that he has suspended the state’s gas tax due to Hurricane Helene. He also extended the State of Emergency until Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

The order notes that Hurricane Helene has harmed the supply chain of goods and services in affected areas, impacting the social and economic wellbeing of Georgia residents.
