Texas gas prices saw a slight decrease last week, with the average price for regular fuel reaching $2.69 per gallon on Monday, down from $2.71 the previous week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Over the past month, gas prices in Texas have stayed relatively stable, showing little change. A year ago, gas was more expensive, with prices averaging 10% higher at $2.99 per gallon. In the last 12 months, state gas prices have fluctuated between a low of $2.46 on December 18, 2023, and a high of $3.45 on August 21, 2023.
Currently, Texas gas prices are about 15.1% lower than the national average. Last week, the average price for gas across the U.S. was $3.17 per gallon, up slightly from $3.14 the week before, according to the EIA.
