The national average price for a gallon of diesel fuel rose again for the week of October 28, according to the latest data from the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA). This increase follows the first decline in four weeks.
The current average price is $3.573 per gallon, up by $0.02 from the previous week’s price of $3.553, which had decreased by 7.8 cents. The week of October 14 saw a rise of 4.7 cents to $3.631, and the week prior, the price increased by $0.04 to $3.584. Before that, there was a slight increase of 0.005 cents to $3.544 on September 30, and a rise of 1.3 cents to $3.539 the week of September 23.
Over the last four weeks, the national average price has gone up by a total of 10.5 cents. Before this recent rise, the national average had dropped a cumulative 33.9 cents from July 15 to September 9.
In comparison to last year, the national average price is down by 88.1 cents, which is an improvement from the 99.2-cent decrease reported for the week of October 21.
Additionally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil is currently trading at $67.79 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, a decline from $71.78 a week ago.
