Gas prices in Minnesota have dropped for the second week in a row, reaching an average of $3.04 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday. This is a decrease from last week’s average of $3.08, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Since last month, the average fuel price has fallen by about 2 cents. Over the past year, gas prices in Minnesota have varied significantly, hitting a low of $2.75 on January 22, 2024, and peaking at $3.95 on September 11, 2023.
Compared to last year, the average gas price in Minnesota was 10% higher, sitting at $3.37 per gallon. The national average gas price last week was $3.10, making Minnesota’s prices about 1.9% lower than the national average. This national average has also decreased from last week’s price of $3.14 per gallon.
