Arkansas Gas Prices Drop Nearly a Quarter Compared to Last Year

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Drivers in Arkansas are seeing continued relief at the pump this week.

AAA reports that the average price for regular unleaded gasoline statewide is $2.70 per gallon, which is 4 cents lower than last week. This price is also 24 cents lower than it was at this time last year.

Montgomery County has the highest gas prices in the state at $2.99 per gallon, while Randolph County has the lowest at $2.47 per gallon. In central Arkansas, Pine Bluff sees an average price of $2.75, while Hot Springs and the Little Rock-North Little Rock area average $2.70 per gallon.

AAA officials attribute the decline in gas prices to reduced gasoline demand, as reported by the Energy Information Administration.

“Arkansas drivers are benefiting from stable crude oil prices and the seasonal drop in demand,” said Nick Chabarria, a spokesperson for AAA. “As long as these factors remain steady, drivers can expect continued drops in pump prices.”

Currently, Arkansas has the 5th lowest gas prices in the nation, with the national average standing at $3.08.
