The national average price for diesel gasoline has dropped for the third consecutive week, according to the latest data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The price fell by 3.0 cents to $3.491 per gallon. This follows a 1.5-cent decline to $3.521 during the week of November 11, and a 3.7-cent decrease to $3.536 the week before. Over the past three weeks, the national diesel average has decreased by a total of 8.2 cents.
These three weeks of declines follow a 2-cent increase to $3.573 the week of October 28. Before that, the price had dropped by 7.8 cents to $3.553 on October 21, risen by 4.7 cents to $3.631 on October 14, and increased by 4 cents to $3.584 the week of October 7. Other recent changes included a slight 0.5-cent increase to $3.544 on September 30, and a 1.3-cent rise to $3.539 on September 23.
Compared to last year, the national average is down by 71.8 cents, an improvement over the 77.3-cent drop seen during the week of November 11 in 2023.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) Crude is currently trading at $68.96 per barrel, a decrease from last week’s price of $67.89.
