The national average price of diesel increased by 4.1 cents to $3.602, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released on January 13.
This rise follows a 5.8-cent jump the previous week, which was the largest increase since October 14, when prices rose by 4.7 cents. Despite the recent increase, diesel prices are still 26.1 cents lower than they were at this time in 2024.
Diesel prices rose in four out of the five PADD regions, with the Rocky Mountain region seeing a 3.1-cent drop. The West Coast experienced the largest regional increase, with prices climbing by 6.6 cents. The Lower Atlantic subregion saw the biggest single change, with a 9-cent spike.
Gasoline Prices
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline fell by 0.4 cents to $3.043, marking a 1.5-cent decrease compared to the same time last year.
