Four individuals from Maharashtra were arrested by Jaipur (Rural) police on Saturday for stealing diesel from filling stations in Rajasthan. The suspects have been identified as Bhima Kale, Lala Kale, Ganesh Pawar, and Ram Pawar.
According to the police, the accused transported goods from Maharashtra to Rajasthan and targeted deserted filling stations at night to steal diesel. They parked their trucks near the stations and pretended to be cooking food. Using small pumps and pipes, they siphoned diesel from the station’s tank into jerry cans. The stolen diesel was then used in their tractors when they returned to Maharashtra.
The police revealed that the gang was involved in diesel thefts across several districts in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and even Maharashtra. Investigations showed that the accused were using the stolen diesel for personal use at their homes. Authorities had received multiple reports from various regions in Rajasthan, indicating that a gang was behind these diesel thefts.
