Motorists will face higher fuel prices this week as gasoline and diesel prices increase by nearly P1 per liter, effective Tuesday, December 17.
In separate announcements, Seaoil and Shell Pilipinas confirmed an 80-centavo per liter increase for both gasoline and diesel.
Additionally, kerosene prices will rise by 10 centavos per liter.
Fuel retailers typically announce price changes every Monday, with new prices taking effect the following day. The latest price adjustments were higher than industry estimates made over the weekend.
Rodela Romero, assistant director of the Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau, attributed the increases to higher power demand forecasted for next year and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
