by Krystal

The Fuling shale gas field in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality has started operating 15 new wells this year, increasing its daily gas output by 600,000 cubic meters, according to Sinopec, China’s largest oil refiner, on Wednesday.

With these new wells, the Fuling gas field now produces over 25 million cubic meters of shale gas per day, enough to supply energy to nearly 50 million households.
