Elena Leao, marketing and PR at AA Ireland, commented, “Rising fuel prices put pressure on households, but motorists can take control of their fuel usage. Simple actions like planning routes to avoid unnecessary travel, driving at a consistent speed, and using eco-driving modes can help reduce fuel consumption. Small improvements can make a difference and ease some of the financial burden.”

AA customers can still save 3 cents per litre on petrol and diesel and 6 cents per litre on milesPlus fuel at participating Circle K stations by using the AA Ireland App.

Ms. Leao also emphasized the importance of vehicle maintenance in improving fuel efficiency. “Regular maintenance is key to optimizing fuel use. Ensuring tyres are properly inflated, maintaining fluid levels, and changing air filters regularly can reduce fuel consumption.”

She added, “Removing unnecessary weight and roof racks also helps lessen the load on your engine. A well-maintained vehicle runs more efficiently, leading to better fuel economy and long-term savings.”
