Eku Energy has commenced construction on two new battery storage projects in Basildon, Essex, and Loudwater, Buckinghamshire, with a combined installed capacity of 130MWh. Utilizing NHOA Energy’s battery energy storage systems, this marks Eku Energy’s entry into the UK market. The projects are anticipated to be operational by the end of 2024.
The initiation of construction follows the successful fulfillment of all planning and permitting requirements, marking a significant milestone for Eku Energy as it expands its global battery storage portfolio. The company currently has 4.6GWh in various stages of development, construction, and operation across the UK, Australia, Italy, and Japan, with the objective of reaching 9GWh by 2028.
