In his role, Ahrens will spearhead strategic development initiatives, overseeing aspects such as land acquisition, interconnection, and permitting.
Ahrens brings over 25 years of experience to his new position, with a significant portion of his career—13 years—dedicated to the development of wind and solar projects. In his previous role, he successfully built and led the development efforts for community solar projects across seven states. Before venturing into renewable energy projects, Ahrens worked as a consultant on utility-scale wind projects, contributing to resource and energy assessment campaigns across the nation.
As Senior Vice President of Development at New Energy, Ahrens will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating efforts to ensure all projects adhere to best-in-class development practices. Leveraging his extensive market intelligence and insight, he is expected to contribute to the continued success and growth of New Energy.
