H.E. Nawal Alhanaee, Director of Future Energy Department at the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure – UAE, was honored with the Women in New Energy (WiNE) Middle East 2024 award during the SolarQuarter Leadership Summit 2024. The ceremony, held at Novotel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan in Abu Dhabi, celebrated the remarkable achievements of women in the sustainable energy sector across the Middle East.

By showcasing these leaders, the campaign seeks to inspire more women to pursue and excel in this critical field, promoting gender diversity and fostering inclusivity in the energy sector.
H.E. Nawal Alhanaee is renowned as a visionary in the energy sector, recognized for her decisive leadership and commitment to sustainable energy initiatives. Her notable accomplishments include spearheading the National Hydrogen Strategies and the National SAF policy in 2023. Her work has not only advanced UAE’s energy agenda but has also positioned the nation as a global leader in energy discourse.
In acknowledgment of her contributions, H.E. Alhanaee was bestowed with the First-Class Order of Zayed II by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for her pivotal role in the UAE’s COP28 negotiating team.
