Captain Brijesh Chowta, who is the MP-elect for Dakshina Kannada, has accused the Congress of initiating a process of looting Karnataka. This accusation stems from the recent increase in sales tax on petrol and diesel by 3.92% and 4.1%, respectively. Chowta emphasized that the BJP will take a stand against this action to prevent further economic strain on the people of Karnataka.
During a protest organized by the BJP in Mangaluru against the fuel price hike, Capt. Chowta expressed his concerns. He stated that the Congress government, having depleted the state’s financial resources, is now burdening the public with additional taxes. He asserted that the BJP will not allow the people of Karnataka to bear the brunt of the government’s poorly planned initiatives and lack of foresight.
