China Road Plant Exempt from EPA Assessment

by Krystal

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it has reviewed the application for an environmental permit concerning the proposed China Road and Bridge Corporation Mobile Cement Concrete Batching and Asphalt Mixing Plant.

According to an advertisement in the Guyana Chronicle, the EPA concluded that the project, situated along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway between Madewini and Kuru Kururu, will not have a significant environmental impact. Therefore, it has exempted the project from requiring an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The EPA justified its decision based on factors such as the project’s role in supporting improvements to the East Bank Demerara Road.
