U.S. fuel ethanol production dipped by nearly 1% during the week ending July 5, as per the latest data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration released on July 10. Stocks of fuel ethanol saw a slight increase, while exports surged by more than 73%.
Production of fuel ethanol averaged 1.054 million barrels per day for the week ending July 5, marking a decrease of 10,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s production of 1.064 million barrels per day. However, production was up by 22,000 barrels per day compared to the same week last year.

Ending stocks of fuel ethanol stood at 23.603 million barrels by the week ending July 5, up by 9,000 barrels from the previous week’s 23.594 million barrels. Compared to the same week last year, stocks increased by 945,000 barrels. Fuel ethanol exports averaged 182,000 barrels per day during the week ending July 5, a rise of 77,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 105,000 barrels per day. Year-on-year, exports for the week were up by 131,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending July 5.
