Gas prices in Northeast Ohio have seen another decline, according to the latest report from GasBuddy. In Akron, drivers are now paying an average of $3.23 per gallon, a drop of 16.6 cents from last week. Similarly, in Cleveland, the average price stands at $3.32 per gallon after a decrease of 11.4 cents. This marks a decrease of 14.8 cents compared to last month and a slight decrease of 1 cent compared to last year.
Meanwhile, the national average price has risen to $3.49 per gallon, increasing by 2.5 cents over the past week. This represents a 5.2-cent increase from last month but is 5.8 cents lower than prices a year ago.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, noted that national gas prices have remained relatively stable around the mid-$3 per gallon range, with some states experiencing slight declines while others see modest increases. Factors such as Hurricane Beryl and localized supply challenges, like recent power outages affecting Texas, have influenced these fluctuations.

Looking at historical data, GasBuddy provided a snapshot of gasoline prices in Cleveland over the past decade, showing fluctuations from $2.14 per gallon in 2017 to $4.43 per gallon in 2022, reflecting broader trends in national pricing dynamics.
