Nationwide, the average gasoline price has increased by 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week, now standing at $3.49 per gallon. This marks a 5.2-cent rise from a month ago but remains 5.8 cents lower than this time last year.
Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, noted, “Similar to last summer, the national average gasoline price has stabilized around the mid-$3 per gallon range. We’re seeing a mix of slight decreases in some states and modest increases in others, while awaiting potential upcoming trends.”
De Haan added, “Hurricane Beryl had minimal impact on prices, but some Texas drivers faced challenges finding gasoline due to power outages, a situation that is gradually improving. As we enter the peak summer travel season, we expect minor price fluctuations unless there are disruptions from hurricanes affecting refineries or other supply issues.”
