Average gasoline prices in Pennsylvania have dropped by 4.8 cents per gallon over the past week, now averaging $3.56 per gallon as of Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 5,269 stations across the state.
Pennsylvania’s current gas prices are 10.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 34.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. Meanwhile, the national average price of diesel has decreased by 2.3 cents in the last week, standing at $3.76 per gallon.
GasBuddy reports that the cheapest station in Pennsylvania is priced at $3.09 per gallon, while the most expensive is $4.39 per gallon, showing a significant difference of $1.30 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline has fallen by 3.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.44 per gallon on Monday. This national average is down 5.6 cents per gallon from a month ago and 37.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data collected from over 11 million weekly price reports covering more than 150,000 gas stations nationwide.

“With oil prices dropping due to new concerns over the U.S. economy following a poor jobs report, gasoline prices have decreased in many states. More states may join this trend as previous refinery disruptions in the Great Lakes region subside and the restart process begins,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
“Diesel prices have also continued to drop. While Tropical Storm Debby is causing heavy rain in Florida and the Southeast, it poses little risk to refineries or refined product pipelines, so it is not a major concern.”
“With the Middle East on alert following Israel’s attacks on Hamas and Hezbollah, there could be an impact on oil prices. However, given the unpredictability of the situation, I currently expect gasoline prices in most states to gently decline in the week ahead, with the Middle East situation being a wildcard,” De Haan added.
