Iraq exported more than six million barrels of crude oil to the United States in July, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). This figure represents an increase from the previous month.
The EIA’s data shows that Iraq’s oil exports to the US totaled 6.967 million barrels in July. This translates to an average of 169,000 barrels per day (bpd). In comparison, June’s exports were 5.425 million barrels, averaging 136,000 bpd.
Export levels from Iraq varied throughout July. In the first week, Iraq exported an average of 237,000 bpd. This number fell to 79,000 bpd in the second week, but surged to 314,000 bpd in the third week. By the fourth week, exports dropped to 207,000 bpd.
In July, Iraq was the fifth-largest oil exporter to the US, following Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia.
