Georgia Gas Prices See Slight Decrease from Last Week

Gas prices in Georgia have seen a slight decrease over the past week, according to data from AAA.

Currently, Georgians are paying an average of $3.22 per gallon, which is one cent less than the price a week ago but still 41 cents higher than the same time last year.

Among the state’s metro areas, Savannah has the highest gas prices at $3.31 per gallon, followed by Hinesville-Fort Stewart at $3.27, and Atlanta at $3.25. On the other hand, the lowest prices are found in Augusta-Aiken at $3.10, Dalton at $3.09, and Catoosa-Dade-Walker at $3.03. The national average for gas prices also decreased slightly over the past week.

AAA spokeswoman Montrae Waiters noted that the slight rise in crude oil prices last week has slowed the recent decline in gas prices, making the outlook for cheaper fuel less certain this week.
