GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has pledged to cut energy costs by 50% within his first year if elected. He plans to achieve this by reversing current federal policies.
Speaking at a defense manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania, Trump outlined his plan to eliminate future electric vehicle mandates and cancel “green energy” policies. He warned that if Kamala Harris wins the presidency, energy costs could rise dramatically, and the U.S. might stop producing oil altogether. He also criticized the Biden administration for what he described as a “regulatory jihad” aimed at closing power plants.
Trump’s approach to energy policy starkly contrasts with that of the Biden administration. While Biden and Harris support a green energy transition, Trump advocates for increased oil and gas production to enhance U.S. energy independence and global influence.
In a recent Bloomberg interview, Trump reiterated his commitment to boosting U.S. oil production, referring to oil as “liquid gold.” He argued that the U.S. has a significant energy advantage over other countries and criticized wind and solar energy as too costly and inefficient for providing affordable energy.
