During a meeting with OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the OPEC+ alliance.
Bektenov stated, “We support the organization’s initiatives and follow the restrictions set by the group, including our current voluntary commitments.”
He emphasized the critical role OPEC plays in stabilizing the global oil market. Bektenov noted that coordinated actions by OPEC+ members help manage potential negative effects and stabilize market conditions.
Al Ghais acknowledged Kazakhstan’s important role in the global oil market. He highlighted how the country’s actions contribute to balancing and stabilizing oil prices.
After the meeting, both leaders reiterated their commitment to maintaining a successful and productive partnership.
Kazakhstan has been part of the OPEC+ agreement since 2016, and its oil production involves more than 90 operators.
