LOS ANGELES – On Sunday, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County increased by six-tenths of a cent, reaching $4.599. This marks the eighth price increase in the last nine days.
Compared to one week ago, the average price is up by 3.3 cents. However, it is down by 2.1 cents from one month ago and 77.3 cents lower than a year ago. The price has decreased by $1.895 from its record high of $6.494 on October 5, 2022.
In Orange County, the average price also went up by six-tenths of a cent, settling at $4.524. This is 3 cents higher than last week, but 2.3 cents lower than last month and 79.2 cents less than a year ago. The price has fallen by $1.935 since its peak of $6.459 on October 5, 2022.
Nationally, the average price for gasoline decreased by six-tenths of a cent to $3.333. This is the 16th drop in the past 18 days. The national average is 2 cents lower than last week, 15 cents less than a month ago, and 48.5 cents below the price from a year ago. It has dropped $1.683 since its record high of $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager, commented, “With September’s arrival, cheaper winter-blend gasoline is almost here, which typically helps reduce pump prices.”
