RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept 23 (Reuters) — OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Brazil’s Energy Minister Alexandre Silveira in the coming years. He made these comments during his opening speech at Brazil’s ROG.e oil and gas event on Monday.
This statement follows Silveira’s remarks from late last year, where he mentioned that Brazil aims to join the OPEC+ group after conducting a full technical analysis. However, he noted that Brazil would not participate in the group’s coordinated output caps.
“We at OPEC greatly value our growing cooperation with Brazil,” Al Ghais stated. He is set to present OPEC’s annual World Oil Outlook at the event on Tuesday.
