The average price of regular unleaded gas in the Killeen-Fort Cavazos area has dipped slightly over the past week, according to AAA. As of Saturday, the average price stood at $2.70 per gallon, reflecting a 3-cent decrease from the previous week and a 62-cent drop compared to the same time last year.
Local Prices
In Killeen, GasBuddy.com reported the lowest regular gasoline price at Super Quick Food Mart, located at 3101 W. Stan Schlueter Loop, selling for $2.44 per gallon. The cheapest diesel was found at Valero and Circle K on 3900 Trimmier Road, priced at $2.64 per gallon.
In Harker Heights, Murphy USA at 2010-A Heights Drive offered regular gas for $2.45 per gallon, while diesel was also priced at $2.64 at Walmart, 960 Knight’s Way.
In Copperas Cove, the lowest price for regular gas was $2.69 at Murphy USA on 2712 E. Highway 190. Diesel at this location was priced at $2.89.
At Fort Cavazos, the cheapest gasoline was available at Valero & AAFES, located at 4250 Clear Creek Road, priced at $2.46 per gallon. Diesel there was also $2.64, available at the Valero & AAFES at 1002 761st Tank Battalion Road.
State Prices
Across Texas, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.75, which is 63 cents lower than it was a year ago.
National Average
The national average for gas prices is $3.22 per gallon of regular gasoline. This figure is 1 cent higher than last week but 61 cents lower than the same time last year, as reported on the AAA website.
