Hunton Andrews Kurth has strengthened its energy and infrastructure services in Japan by appointing Kristian Bradshaw as a partner. Bradshaw joins the firm from White & Case, where he previously served as a local partner in Tokyo.
Bradshaw, a registered foreign lawyer in Japan and qualified in England and Wales, brings extensive experience in the energy sector. His expertise spans across key areas such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen, ammonia, and geothermal energy.
Before his role at White & Case, where he worked for two years, Bradshaw held a senior in-house legal position as general counsel at Inpex Corporation, Japan’s largest energy exploration and production company, from 2018 to 2022.
During his time at White & Case, Bradshaw was involved in several high-profile transactions. He was part of a cross-jurisdictional team advising MidOcean Energy, a company managed by EIG, on its acquisition of Tokyo Gas’ stakes in major Australian LNG projects, including Gorgon, Pluto, and Queensland Curtis. He also co-led a US-Japan team representing Excelerate Energy in a 20-year LNG sale and purchase agreement with Venture Global LNG.
Bradshaw’s arrival at Hunton Andrews Kurth comes less than six months after the departure of Tokyo partner Sean Conaty, a project finance and M&A lawyer, who left to join Nishimura & Asahi.
