Caracas, Oct 7 (Prensa Latina) — Venezuelan Oil Minister Delcy Rodríguez met with Haitham Al Ghais, the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), in Caracas on Monday. The meeting took place at the headquarters of Petróleos de Venezuela, the state-owned oil company.
The primary goal of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between Venezuela and OPEC. They discussed the current state of the international energy market, the operation of OPEC+ statutes, and future prospects for the hydrocarbon market.
Al Ghais arrived in Caracas on Monday for a working visit. His agenda includes promoting comprehensive policies that benefit oil-producing countries and reaffirming the founding principles of OPEC+.
Venezuela holds a significant position within this group as a global leader in the hydrocarbon market. It boasts the largest proven crude oil reserves in the world, according to the Vice Presidency.
