Texas Gas Prices Increased Compared to Last Week

Gas prices in Texas increased last week, reaching an average of $2.71 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday. This is a rise from the previous week’s price of $2.66 per gallon, as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Despite this increase, the average fuel price in Texas has decreased by about 7 cents since last month. The EIA also noted that gas prices in Texas have ranged significantly over the past year. They were as low as $2.46 per gallon on December 18, 2023, and peaked at $3.45 on August 21, 2023.

One year ago, the average gas price in Texas was 14% higher, at $3.15 per gallon. In comparison, the average gas price across the United States last week was $3.14 per gallon. This means Texas prices are approximately 13.7% lower than the national average. The national average has also declined from last week’s figure of $3.18 per gallon.
