Gas prices in Massachusetts increased last week, reaching an average of $3.05 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday. This marks an increase from last week’s price of $3.01 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Despite the recent rise, the average fuel price in the state has dropped by about 8 cents since last month. The EIA reported that over the past year, gas prices in Massachusetts have ranged from a low of $3.01 per gallon on October 7, 2024, to a high of $3.76 per gallon on August 7, 2023.
One year ago, the average gas price in Massachusetts was 15% higher, at $3.59 per gallon. Last week, the national average gas price in the United States was $3.17 per gallon, making Massachusetts prices approximately 4.0% lower than the national average. This national average has also increased from last week’s figure of $3.14 per gallon.
