Basrah Crude Prices Drop Even as Global Oil Prices Increase

Shafaq News – On Monday, Basrah crude prices fell even as global oil prices increased.

Basrah Heavy crude decreased by $0.12 to $68.98 per barrel, while Basrah Medium crude also fell by $0.12, reaching $72.14 per barrel.

In contrast, global oil prices gained more than $1 on the same day. This rise followed OPEC+’s decision to postpone plans to boost output by one month. Markets are also preparing for a significant week, which includes a U.S. presidential election and an important meeting in China.

Brent crude futures rose by $1.18 per barrel, or 1.61%, reaching $74.28 per barrel by 04:02 GMT. Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude climbed by $1.21 per barrel, or 1.74%, to $70.70.
