Kotug International, based in the Netherlands, and its Senegalese partner Maritalia have been awarded a marine services contract for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project. This decision comes after a thorough and competitive tender process involving BP and its partners, including Kosmos Energy and the National Oil Companies of Senegal and Mauritania.
The contract is long-term and includes options for extension, allowing the companies to provide essential marine services for one of Africa’s most significant subsea developments, located at the maritime border between Mauritania and Senegal.
Kotug will deploy four 32-meter tugs that meet ASD IMO Tier-III standards to support operations at the offshore Hub Terminal, as well as the Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. Meanwhile, Maritalia will ensure that local content requirements are met.
The GTA project aims to extract gas from an ultra-deepwater subsea system. The gas will be processed by the FPSO and then exported through a 35-kilometer pipeline to the FLNG facility, where it will be transferred to LNG carriers for distribution.
