San Diego County Gas Prices Fall to Their Lowest Level Since 2022

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in San Diego County fell to its lowest level since December 30, 2022, dropping by 0.2 cents to $4.515 on Wednesday.

This marks the fifth price decrease in the past six days, with the total decline reaching 1.5 cents. The drop includes a 0.2-cent reduction on Tuesday, according to data from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Prices had fallen by 0.9 cents on Friday, increased by 0.8 cents on Saturday, and then resumed falling on Sunday.

Compared to last week, the average price is down by 1.5 cents. It is also 7.7 cents lower than a month ago and 42 cents lower than this time last year. Since peaking at a record high of $6.435 on October 5, 2022, the average price has dropped by $1.92.

On the national level, the average gas price also continued its decline, dropping for the seventh straight day by 0.4 cents to $3.033. Over the past week, the national average has decreased by 4 cents, including a 1-cent drop on Tuesday, following two days of increases totaling 1.7 cents.

The national average is now 6.8 cents lower than one month ago and 20.9 cents cheaper than a year ago. It has fallen by $1.98 since reaching a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
