BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Phoenix man was arrested in Ridgecrest after police say he used a device to steal about 500 gallons of diesel fuel from a local gas station.
Noel Perez Delgado, 42, was taken into custody on Tuesday, facing charges of grand theft and related offenses. Police discovered large containers filled with stolen fuel in the back of his box truck, which was seized as evidence.
Officers responded to a call at Flyers Gas Station on North China Lake Boulevard at 12:35 a.m. about a box truck that had been parked for several hours. After searching the vehicle, authorities found the fuel containers and determined that Perez Delgado had used a device to pump gas without paying.
This arrest follows a similar incident in Los Angeles County last week, where Perez Delgado was also charged with theft, according to police.
