Iraq’s oil exports to the United States rose last week, reaching an average of 229,000 barrels per day (bpd), according to a report from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Sunday.
The EIA also revealed that total US crude oil imports from nine major countries dropped to 5.844 million bpd last week, down by 302,000 bpd from the previous week’s 6.146 million bpd.
Iraq’s exports to the US increased by 20,000 bpd compared to the previous week, when they averaged 209,000 bpd.
The report showed that the largest share of US oil imports last week came from Canada, with 3.919 million bpd. Other notable sources included Mexico (397,000 bpd), Saudi Arabia (368,000 bpd), Colombia (276,000 bpd), and Brazil (248,000 bpd).
Additionally, US crude oil imports included 237,000 bpd from Nigeria, 69,000 bpd from Ecuador, 120,000 bpd from Venezuela, and 50,000 bpd from Libya.
