From 3:00 p.m. on February 13, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance announced an increase in fuel prices. Specifically, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline rose by 156 VND per liter, reaching 20,598 VND per liter.
Along with this, RON95-III gasoline saw a 146 VND per liter increase, bringing its price to 21,074 VND per liter. Diesel prices went up by 19 VND per liter, now priced at 19,073 VND per liter. Kerosene increased by 59 VND per liter, with a new price of 19,473 VND per liter. Meanwhile, mazut oil prices surged by 425 VND, setting the price at 17,779 VND per kilogram.
Despite the price hikes, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Finance did not use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products during this period. As of the latest data, the Price Stabilization Fund at the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) remained unchanged at 3,081 billion VND.
In the previous price adjustment on February 6, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by just 51 VND per liter, while RON95-III gasoline dropped by 74 VND per liter. Diesel prices decreased by 192 VND per liter, kerosene by 25 VND per liter, and fuel oil fell by 148 VND per kilogram.
Operators cited recent factors driving the price rise, including new US sanctions on Iranian oil, increasing tensions in the Middle East, and China’s response to Trump’s tariff hikes.
Over the past week, the price of finished gasoline increased by about 0.3%, while oil prices rose by 0.4% to 2.4%. This meant that the price of each barrel of RON95 gasoline climbed to 86.4 USD, diesel oil to 91.3 USD, and fuel oil to 494.1 USD per ton.
