Gasoline prices in Virginia have decreased by 4.9 cents per gallon over the past week, bringing the average to $2.93 per gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 4,081 stations in the state.
The average price is 10.5 cents lower than last month and 28.0 cents lower than this time last year. On the national level, the average price of diesel dropped by 1.9 cents in the past week, now standing at $3.63 per gallon, GasBuddy reports.
The cheapest gas in Virginia on Sunday was $2.07 per gallon, while the most expensive station charged $3.89 per gallon — a difference of $1.82.
Nationwide, the average price of gasoline fell by 3.8 cents per gallon, now averaging $3.04 per gallon. This is 4.7 cents lower than a month ago and 29.9 cents lower than last year. GasBuddy’s data comes from more than 11 million weekly price reports from over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
