MANILA, Philippines – Motorists will see another round of fuel price reductions this week as diesel and kerosene prices drop for the third consecutive week, effective Tuesday, March 18.
Oil companies have announced a P0.20 per liter rollback for diesel and a P0.40 per liter decrease for kerosene, while gasoline prices will remain unchanged.
Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, CleanFuel, and Caltex confirmed the adjustments in separate advisories on Monday, March 17.
Ongoing Fuel Price Decline
Over the past two weeks, fuel prices have seen significant cuts. In the first week of March, reductions ranged from P0.80 to P1.40 per liter, followed by up to P1.80 per liter last week.
The Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) attributed these price rollbacks to increasing crude oil supply in the United States and weaker fuel demand in certain countries, partly due to US trade tariffs.
For this week, the DOE cited economic challenges and slowing fuel demand as key factors behind the slight price cuts.
Fuel Prices in Metro Manila
From March 11 to March 17, retail prices per liter in Metro Manila were:
Gasoline (RON97/100) – P71.95
Gasoline (RON95) – P54.60
Gasoline (RON91) – P55.40
Diesel – P53.70
Diesel Plus – P58.40
Kerosene – P70.67
Year-to-Date Price Changes
Despite the latest adjustments, the net increase in gasoline prices remains at P2.15 per liter, unchanged from last week. Meanwhile, diesel prices have risen by P2.85 per liter since the start of the year.
Kerosene, however, has seen a net decrease of P0.70 per liter in 2025 due to recent price rollbacks.
Fuel prices have been declining since February 25, reflecting a broader trend in global oil markets.
