Gas prices in the Gulf Coast region increased last week, reaching an average of $2.74 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday. This marks a rise from last week’s price of $2.63 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The average fuel price in the region has gone up by about 4 cents compared to last month. Over the past year, gas prices in the Gulf Coast have fluctuated between a low of $2.56 on December 16, 2024, and a high of $3.24 on May 6, 2024.
One year ago, the average price was $2.65 per gallon, 3% lower than this week’s price. The national average gas price last week was $3.12, making prices in the Gulf Coast region about 12% lower than the national average. Last week’s national average was also higher than the previous week’s price of $3.06 per gallon.
