The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) has criticized the recent diesel price hike, warning that it will raise operational costs, reduce profits, and push small-scale industries into financial difficulty.
According to KASSIA, small industries depend heavily on diesel for transportation, manufacturing, and backup power. The sharp increase in diesel prices is making it harder for businesses to control production expenses.
Many small businesses operate on narrow profit margins, and the rising cost of fuel threatens their survival. This issue is made worse by supply chain disruptions, inflation, and higher raw material costs, KASSIA added.
The association has called on the government to provide subsidies, lower excise duties, or introduce policies that can ease the impact of volatile fuel prices.
