In line with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ commitment to strengthening workforces with skilled professionals and advancing its strategic goals, Minister Karim Badawi has announced a series of leadership changes within the oil and gas sector. These moves are part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to infuse fresh talent into key leadership roles and maximize the potential of its workforce for better outcomes.
The following key appointments were made:
Nasser Mohamed Nasser Shouman was appointed Supervisor of the Foreign Trade Prosecution and a member of the Executive Council of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). He will also continue his original duties within the petroleum sector.
Ahmed Kamal El Din Shafik El Desouky has been named Vice President for Exploration at EGPC and a member of the Executive Council, effective March 30, 2025.
Wael Mohamed Mohamed Rizk Aish was appointed Vice President for Refining and Manufacturing at EGPC, also joining the Executive Council, with his role beginning on June 1, 2025.
Heba Allah Mohamed Abdel Qader Ali Hassan will serve as Assistant to the Company Chairman for Marketing at the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM).
Salama Saber Issa Arabi Sawan has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Petroleum Pipelines Company (PPC).
El Sayed Youssef Abbas Mohamed will take on the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Cairo Oil Refining Company (CORC).
Mohamed Samir Mohamed Abdel Latif has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director at Suez Oil Company (SUCO).
Sherif Mohamed Saleh Abu Bakr will assume the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director at Abu Qir Petroleum Company.
Mahmoud Ahmed Ahmed El Sayed Tolba has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director at Kom Ombo Petroleum Company.
Yasser Abdel Aziz Mohamed Baraka was named Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director at Alamein Petroleum Company.
Nabawy Mahmoud Hassan Ibrahim will take on the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director at the Egyptian Valves Company (EVACO).
Sherif Kamel Obaid Ahmed has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director at the Egyptian Styrene & Polystyrene Production Company (ESTYRENICS).
Hassan Ahmed Abdel Aziz Ibrahim has been named Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian German Pump Company (Ruhrpumpen Egypt).
Mahmoud Abdel Hamid Mahmoud Mohamed has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director at Tharwa Breda Petroleum Service Company (TBPSCO), in addition to his original duties.
Ayman Fathy Ibrahim Youssef was named Chairman of the Board of Directors at Petronas Egypt Oil Company, while maintaining his existing role.
These appointments reflect the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance leadership within the sector and drive continued growth and success.
