Zefiro Methane Corp. (Cboe Canada: ZEFI) (Frankfurt: Y6B) (OTCQB: ZEFIF) announced today that its major sponsor entity, X Machina Sustainable Technologies (XMST), has filed a provisional patent for a new data portal aimed at addressing orphaned oil and gas wells across North America.
The patent will give Zefiro’s well remediation specialists access to a geographic interface that integrates satellite-based methane detection data. This will also include proprietary field quantification data and other critical information needed to develop an AI model capable of identifying leaking orphaned oil and gas wells. XMST will license the use of the patent to Zefiro free of charge, helping the company improve its batch efficiency. This metric measures the cost-effectiveness of methane gas capture.
This patent filing is the latest in a series of efforts by Zefiro to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into its operations. These include collaborations with Geolabe and Keynum, as well as the launch of the Zefiro Lifecycle Solution. The latter is a platform developed with CarbonAi Inc. to streamline the process of plugging orphaned wells and certifying carbon offset products, significantly lowering costs and timelines.
Dr. Talal Debs, Zefiro’s Founder and CEO, commented, “From using advanced machinery to gather satellite data, we have always embraced technology to provide communities with accurate information on methane leaks. This patent will offer essential data to help protect vital land, water, and air resources.”
Zefiro’s Chief Technology Officer, Richard Walker, added, “The use of modern technology is crucial in tackling environmental remediation challenges. By utilizing the innovations from this patent, our team will be able to address a larger number of leaking orphaned wells, serving more clients and helping North American communities unlock their full economic potential.”
