KUALA LUMPUR: The retail prices of RON97 petrol and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will decrease by 10 sen from April 17 to April 23.
In a statement on Wednesday (April 16), the Finance Ministry announced that the price of RON97 petrol would fall to RM3.18 per liter nationwide. Meanwhile, the price of diesel in the peninsula will drop to RM2.88 per liter.
However, diesel prices in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will remain unchanged at RM2.15 per liter during the same period.
The retail price of RON95 petrol will also stay the same at RM2.05 per liter across the country.
The ministry said the prices were set according to the weekly retail pricing of petroleum products based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.
“The government will continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and take appropriate action to safeguard the welfare and well-being of the people,” it said.
