Motorists in the Philippines will face another round of fuel price hikes this week, marking the second consecutive week of increases.
Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. announced that they will raise gasoline prices by P1.35 per liter, diesel by P0.80, and kerosene by P0.70. Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will also implement the same price changes, but they do not sell kerosene.
The price adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, except for Cleanfuel, which will raise prices at 4:01 p.m. the same day. Other fuel companies have not yet made announcements for this week.
The Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) had earlier predicted these price hikes, citing new US sanctions on Iran’s oil shipping network and a larger-than-expected drop in American crude inventories.
Last week, fuel prices were also raised by P1.35 per liter for gasoline, P1.30 for diesel, and P1.10 for kerosene.
So far, year-to-date price adjustments have resulted in a net increase of P2.30 per liter for gasoline, P2.85 for diesel, and P1.80 for kerosene as of April 22, 2025.
