July 3rd, according to a report recently released by Norway’s Rustad Energy Company, the European Union is currently stepping up its storage of natural gas for the winter, and the EU may complete the winter natural gas storage work ahead of schedule this year.
Since the beginning of this year, the EU has continued to increase investment in natural gas imports, storage and transportation. Data in the report showed that as of June 25, European gas inventories were around 76%, up from 56% in the same period last year.
Analysts at the firm said the EU is likely to meet 90% of its gas storage target by this year’s Nov. 1 deadline, with some storage facilities likely to be full before this winter.
